Lip crayon chubby stick type things are definitely in vogue in my house at the moment, it’s the third review I’ve done in a couple of weeks and I cannot get enough of them!
This one I purchased way back in February for my birthday after much debate, mainly because after seeing it on Lily’s blog many moons ago I knew I loved the colour, but it looked so dark in the bullet that I wasn’t sure if such a shade would suit me.
Plum Russian is a sort of berry plum shade. It’s not too intense and despite how dark it looks in the bullet it’s nowhere near as dark on your lips. What’s great about this crayon as well is because of the formula it is buildable so you can make it quite sheer and subtle or amp it up for a more vampy look. One applied it leaves a beautiful glossy finish.
Like the Revlon balms it’s lovely and moisturising, very comfortable on the lips and easy to apply. It also twists up for ease of use. It doesn’t really have a scent, it’s very faintly fragranced but it’s barely noticeable. In terms of longevity, it’s not too bad, a couple of hours or so without eating or drinking. It also leaves a slight stain too for a couple of hours afterwards which I like, so it does last a little longer than the Revlon balms.
One other little plus point to add is that it has an SPF15. It’s quite easy to forget that lips need SPF too so when you’re wearing this you’ll also be protected!
It’s my first time venturing into darker berry lips and I love this colour. Despite the trend now of brighter, coral lips this is still gracing mine every so often and will be doing so this autumn too! I definitely would recommend this for girls who want to dip their toe into the darker lip trend.
