Double cleansing? what is it? Well it’s ridiculously as simple as it sounds, cleansing your face twice. If you’re not double cleansing you’re doing it wrong! I’m only joking but there are some benefits to taking it up if you’re not doing it already.
Have you ever noticed sometimes you cleanse your face, but then somehow when you’re applying your toner for example, the cotton wool pad still finds traces of makeup. It’s not great and makes you feel like your skin is not quite clean. Also when you’re slapping on those expensive creams and your hydraluron and whatever else, if you’re putting them on not quite cleansed skin they’re not going to be as efficient as they could be. By double cleansing you’d be ensuring that your skin is completely clean, ready for those lotions and potions to work their magic!
I usually only double cleanse at night, when I’ve been wearing makeup, hell I’m not going to get that grubby overnight! I use myDHC Deep Cleansing Oilfirstly to remove my makeup. It’s a pretty pricey option but I absolutely love it and the oil turns to a lovely milk upon contact with water. However if you’re looking for something a little more purse friendly I’ve heard the Super Facialist Vitamin C+ Skin Renew Cleansing Oil is quite good, or you could opt for the Nspa Melting Cleansing Gel, both of which are on my list to try next.
After I’ve cleansed my face with the oil, I then useNSpa Hot Cloth Polishand a muslin cloth to cleanse my face again and I find this just gets rid of any last traces of makeup and generally makes me feel a lot fresher and cleaner.
It seriously doesn’t take much longer to do than a regular cleanse, in fact my favourite option is to apply the oil and give it a quick massage, then hop in the shower and get all my hair washed and while my conditioner is on my hair I’ll cleanse my face, rinsing the cloth under the water. Lazy? yes, but I’m all about the shortcuts!
Double cleansing, Yay or Nay?
