Marc Jacobs Dot Perfume

Marc Jacobs Dot – £38.50

I recently received Marc Jacob’s new perfume – Dot – for Christmas, having previously tested it and it has quickly become one of my favourite perfumes.

Before testing out Dot, I was apprehensive. I’d loved Lola (which I also own) but I hated Daisy so I wasn’t sure if I would like Dot. However upon testing it, the scent instantly appealed to me.

Dot is described as being a floral scent with top notes of a delectable blend of red berries, succulent dragonfruit, and sweet honeysuckle. The lush floral heart of the fragrance blooms with addictive jasmine mingled with energising notes of coconut water and orange blossom. The scent rounds out with a feminine drydown of creamy vanilla, driftwood, and sensual musks.

Personally that description could probably more accurately and eloquently describe the perfume’s scent more than I could. I’m rubbish at describing scents so I’d probably say it’s sweet but not too sweet, fruity and fresh and quite strong but not too strong, (helpful I know!)

As I mentioned above, it’s quite a strong scent, but it’s not as overpowering and more discreet than Lola so is actually quite suitable for the daytime as well as the evening.

I personally love the bottles that Marc Jacobs always presents his perfume in, and although it’s quite peculiar shaped (resembling a ladybird) it looks so good placed on my dresser. I also adore all things polka dot so this was a massive thumbs up!

Finally being an eau de parfum, it does last a long time with the base notes definitely coming through over time (probably more than 4 hours, to be honest I haven’t timed it).

All in all, I definitely say if you love fresh floral scents that aren’t too sickly or strong then try this out on your next shopping trip. It’s definitely one of my favourites to wear.
