The In Shower body moisturiser is a relatively new offering by Nivea. It works on the principle of a ‘conditioner for your skin’ meaning you put it on and wash it off, a simple yet unheard of concept.
Nivea in shower moisturiser comes in two different types- Normal Skin and Dry Skin. I opted for normal, as on the whole my skin isn’t too dry.
I have to be the first to put my hands up and say I’m crap at using moisturiser, mainly for two reasons:
1. I’m lazy
2. I hate the feeling of it.
I’ve tried all the moisturisers under the sun but I hate the feeling of it on my skin, even the ones that supposedly sink in fast, I still feel a residue and that is what I hate.
I’ve even tried oil in the shower in an attempt to lock moisture into my skin, but somehow that’s even worse and I cannot stand the feeling of it.
So when I saw the in shower moisturiser advertised on television, I was really interested. The idea of being able to wash it off and not having to let it sink in seemed really appealing.
The In Shower body moisturiser for Normal skin has quite a masculine scent, but not unpleasant, in fact I really like it, but if you’re looking for a more girly, feminine scented product, you won’t find it here.
The product comes out easily, and is lovely and smooth and viscose so it’s really easy to apply whilst you’re in the shower. It does actually feel quite a lot like conditioner on your skin, but washes off fairly easily.
Afterwards my skin does feel soft and smooth, and although I can tell I’ve applied something to my skin as there is a slight slippy feeling, I don’t feel tacky and as if I need to dry off before I can get dressed, meaning my skin is lovely and soft and I’m ready to go.
The only drawback to this product, and it is only a minor one, is that because of the way the packaging is designed, the bottle gets very slippy because of handling with moisturised hands.
Nivea have totally tapped into a niche part of the market and whoever came up with this idea is a total genius. I will definitely be repurchasing as it’s fairly cheap for what you get and I’ve finally found a way of incorporating moisturiser into my routine without getting pissed off at the residue left behind.
Nivea In Shower Body Moisturiser can be purchased from supermarkets and drugstores. Boots currently have it on offer for £3 for 400ml.
