Keeping Organised

Rooms in halls aren’t very big so it’s important that you utilise the space you have to the maximum capacity to ensure you keep your room clean and free from clutter.

Laundry Basket

Laundry basket
The first thing you should buy is a collapsible laundry basket. These are so useful, they fold up so they don’t take up much space when you’re not using them and also you can put your dirty laundry in there instead of throwing it on the floor and having to scoop it up when you do laundry. You can also double this up and use it as a basket for transporting your clothes when you take them to the laundrette.

Over The Door Hooks

Over The Door HooksThese are so useful for saving space. You can utilize the space on the back of your door to hang your coats, scarves, bags and any towels. It enables you to access them easily when you’re going out of the door and it also means they’re out of the way.

Under Bed Storage

under bed storageUnder bed storage is one of the best ways of storing things you don’t need such as seasonal clothes or if you stocked up on toiletries or canned food. I usually use mine to store any canned or dried food (non-perishables) that I couldn’t fit in my cupboard and when I stock up on things like shampoo and shower gel.

Office Letter Trays

These are especially useful when you go to university, lectures are unlike classes you used to take where you had an exercise book you wrote all your work in you will get handed a lot of sheets of paper. Office Letter TrayThe format of lectures at UK universities these days is usually a powerpoint presentation and they give you a handout with the slides on, and if you’re not a particularly tidy person you can end up with pieces of paper everywhere. These are useful for sorting your work into things that have been done and things that need to be done.
