Revlon Colourstay Moisture Lip Stain – £7.99

I was really excited when I heard the Revlon Colorstay Moisture Lip Stains were going to be released here in the UK as I’ve wanted a lip stain but I didn’t really want to spend so much on the YSL offerings, so I decided to pick one up a couple of weeks ago in Boots.

Firstly they have quite a good colour range ranging from light pink to really dark plum colours, but I played safe and went for ‘LA Exclusive’ which is a lovely mid pink colour.

I quite like the applicator which is like the YSL Vernis a Levres, but that’s really where it ends. It’s got a slight, chemically-paint-like scent to them, which isnt that bad and fades quickly but it’s a bit reminiscent of applying dulux paint to your lips especially with the application as well. My oh my what can I say about the application, it’s absolutely terrible. It’s quite thick and gloopy then very streaky on the lips when first applied so you have to do a lot of blending with the wand and smacking your lips together to get an even coverage.

After it’s settled it looks lovely and glossy but it’s quite sticky and I am aware of it on my lips. Once it fades to a stain it’s much more comfortable and that lasts 3 or 4 hours.

I really want to like these but I just cannot get on with the application, it’s so streaky and messy. I’ve heard that some of the other colours are a slightly better application, so I might have to try one out, but honestly give this one a miss it’s not that great!
