Revlon Lacquer Balm Whimsical – £7.99
I told you I would eventually pick up one of the new Revlon balms and I have finally done it. Whimsical wasn’t the one I was opting for originally (but like many backstories on here it never is!) but when I swatched it I really fell in love with the colour.
Whimsical is quite a dark pinky berry colour, but when applied to the lips is more of a magenta colour. It looks very glittery in the bullet but don’t let this put you off because when applied it’s more of a shimmer which makes it look fabulously glossy. Like the others in the Kissable Balm Stains range it has an inoffensive minty smell when you apply it, which I quite like to be honest.
It’s lovely and soft creamy application, very lightweight and moisturising. I would say it’s one of those you can swipe on and go but because of the colour I’d definitely recommend a mirror so it doesn’t end up all over your face!.
Admittedly it’s not long lasting, once you’ve eaten and drank you’re only left with remnants of a stain so a top up is a necessity. However if you’re not eating or drinking it does last a couple of hours easily.
Despite being quite a vibrant shade, since I got this it’s graced my lips everyday, even to work! (hence the slightly misshapen tip!). It’s not too in your face and paired with neutral makeup it gives a nice ‘pop’ of colour.
