Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder – £8.99
My beloved Revlon Photoready powder has been coming to the end for a while now and it finally gave up the ghost when my boyfriend dropped my weekender bag and smashed what remainder there was left, so I had to buy a new powder.
I saw that there’s been good reviews about the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation so I decided I would try the powder as it looked quite good testing it on my hand and I’ve tried quite a few powders before.
Upon first opening I notice that it smells lovely, very fruity. It comes with a handy mirror in the lid, but no applicator. I tend to use my own brush anyway so this is of no consequence.
The powder is lovely and soft and easy to apply. I built the powder up in the swatch above because it’s so pale. It gives quite a nice matte finish. I like matte finishes because I tend to go very shiny anyway so dewy just doesn’t work.
It definitely doesn’t last 10 hours on me, in fact it probably lasts a couple of hours maximum before shine starts appearing on my face, so I definitely wouldn’t recommend it for people who have quite oily skin. It probably would last longer on other skin types and as it does say it’s hydrating it would probably suit drier skin types without drying them out.
It’s one of the nicer powders I’ve used but it’s not as good as my beloved Revlon powder and it doesn’t last 10 hours.
