It was love at first sight. As I perused the Chanel counter many months back, this caught my eye and after a swipe on my naked nail I was hooked. Fast forward to my birthday and I could finally allow myself to splash out on the Chanel Le Vernis Rouge Noir nail polish.
The formula is perfect, a first swipe is the colour of crushed berries and a second coat brings out its true oxblood beauty. It’s thin enough to dry quickly without being on the sheer side.
Wear time is also comparable to many high street brands. I got some tipwear on my left hand due to some over enthusiastic washing up and I did have some chipping after a couple of days sans topcoat, but it’s generally pretty good for someone who is pretty careless with her manicure. If you’re looking for some longevity for your money though you might not find it here.
On an additional note Chanel nail polishes are also free of toluene, formaldehyde, DBP or camphor- Hurrah to no nasties!
I could wax lyrical about this polish all day, it’s become my favourite dark nail polish but to see the true beauty you need to try it for yourself.
Chanel Le Vernis in Rouge Noir is £18 and can be purchased from Chanel counters and their website.
