La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo [+] Unifiant Light – £16.50 *

If you’re a regular reader, you must surely know by now that Effaclar Duo [+] is a staple in my skincare routine. In fact I have talked about it four times previously it’s that good, so when I was asked if I wanted to try out the new La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo [+] Unifiant the answer was a resounding YES!

Effaclar Duo [+] Unifiant combines all the original efficacy of the Effaclar Duo [+] with a matifying mineral pigment which provides a sheer coverage, and if you want to cut right to the chase…I love it. I love it! I freakin’ love it.

It comes in two shades – light and medium – and I’m a bit iffy with ‘one size fits all’ sort of makeup as it usually means “too dark for me” but surprisingly this is a great match!

It evens out your skin, toning down any redness and giving a hint of colour, leaving a natural semi matte finish whilst unclogging pores and treating blemishes. Also I noticed that it really keeps the oil away! Usually by mid morning I’m a bit of an oil slick but when I’ve got this on I’m definitely not as shiny.

I’ve become a little bit more lazy when it comes to makeup and I’d rather have an extra 10 minutes in bed over applying a full face of makeup, so I love that it’s so lightweight and blendable that I can literally slap this on with my fingers in a couple of minutes. Also because it is a skincare treatment first and foremost, I can skip putting on the original effaclar duo underneath.

It makes a really great primer too and lately I’ve been combining it with the new formulation of the YSL Teint Touche Eclat which is a definite winning combo.

Sadly it does have a minor drawback in that it doesn’t last the whole day coverage wise, but there’s very few products I know of that do last a 10 hour day.

Like it’s Effaclar Duo [+] buddy, it’s a solid winner for me and has new pride of place on my dressing table. I’ll be repurchasing this for sure. I’d definitely recommend picking this up if you like the original Effaclar Duo [+] and / or you’re looking for a treatment with coverage, it’s fantastic!

  1. Fab post hun, I’m a big fan of the Effaclar Duo range and this sounds amazing. I love how it gives your skin a hint of colour whilst helping to reduce redness. I will be on the lookout next time I’m in Boots 🙂
