La Roche-Posay Physiological Micellar Solution Review

This was an impulse buy but has quickly become my ultimate amazing skincare for the lazy girl product.

I am guilty of breaking cardinal rule #1. You must take off your makeup at night. Don’t get me wrong I take it off if I’m having a shower or a bath, but if I’m tired, or at my boyfriends, I’m feeling lazy and I have a habit of sleeping in my makeup. I recently read it ages you by 7 years (ARGH!).

At the same time, there’s been a lot of hype surrounding the new cleansing oil solution type things (sounding very eloquent) particularly around the Bioderma one. I had been toying with the idea because of the hype but I’m funny about skincare, especially oil based ones because my skin is naturally oily and adding anything oil based to my face makes me bolt. However I think I read that you could use it at night so I decided to give it a go. I was going to go for the Bioderma one then I picked up this one in Boots for £11.50 for 200ml

It is designed for sensitive skin and is soap free, alcohol-free, colourant-free and paraben free (woohoo!) It’s also non-comedogenic, so it won’t block your pores either!

You simply pour a little bit onto a cotton wool pad, sweep it across your face until the makeup is gone and voila! you don’t even have to wash it off.

It feels like water on your skin, but wetter. I can’t really explain more than that. It does leave your face feeling as though you’ve moisturised and your skin feels really soft all day. I’ve also noticed my skin doesn’t feel greasy, as though it’s balanced out my skin which is a bonus.

It has a slight smell, I can’t really describe what the smell is, only fruity but it’s not intrusive at all and very pleasant. It removes all your makeup as well really efficiently, although I do find I have to use two cotton pads for a full face of makeup. I can even use it for my eye makeup and it removes it all effortlessly without stinging or making my eyes goopy and weird which some eye makeup removers do.

I have had my opinion completely changed of these types of products, they are wonderful, and if you have to buy something to remove your makeup, its this!
This has become an absolute firm favourite in my routine. Not only does my skin feel lovely and smooth but it is the lazy girls ultimate product. I keep it on my bedside table so even on nights when I’m feeling really lazy I can grab a cotton pad, slap some of this on and I know I’m saving my skin with absolute minimum effort.
This is on the expensive side and I probably will give the Bioderma product a go but it’s safe to say, this is one of my permanent additions.
