L’Oreal Elvive Fibrology Thickening Masque – £5.09

I was quite excited when the new Fibrology range was announced because they sounded perfect for my fine lifeless hair. Having already accumulated a silly amount of shampoos and conditioners and just run out of my other hair mask I decided to pick up the Thickening Masque from their range.

The product comes in a tub with a screw lid. Personally I hate these kind of tubs because when your hands are wet in the shower it’s hard to undo, then when you’re scooping out the product loads of water goes in as well which is annoying so I just don’t like the design.

However what I do like is that the product is pink! it’s such a contrast to the turquoise packaging, plus the girly side in me comes out and I get a little excited that it’s pink! Another thing that I probably love the most about this mask is the smell. I absolutely adore the scent of this mask it smells amazing.

My hair feels soft and quite nourished after washing but it doesn’t look or feel any thicker which is a bit disappointing. I know it’s meant to continue building thickness over several washes but as I’m only using this mask once a week or so I don’t see how it will keep up the momentum.

I think the jury’s out on this one for me, it’s quite a good product but it doesn’t seem to thicken my hair that much and I’ve tried other masks which perform better so I don’t think I’ll be repurchasing this one. That being said, I still want to try out the shampoo and conditioner to see how they fare.

  1. I’ve always liked L’Oreal products, mostly for the fact that they’re affordable and smell good. I’ve found that they don’t always necessarily do what they claim to though.
I try to avoid packaging like this because of what you said about the water getting into the tub. Such a pain.
