Last Saturday was my 23rd Birthday. Harry was working that day, so I didn’t get to spend the day with him, which was a bit rubbish but I went into Manchester with my good friend David and we decided to do a little bit of shopping as my birthday money was burning a hole in my pocket. Of course our first stop was Selfridges, I loved perusing all the luxury counters but the first place I headed for was Chanel where I picked up a little nail polish treat for myself which I blogged about on Thursday.
I picked up some Lush goodies too and finally got my hands on a floppy hat from Topshop that I’ve been itching to get since I saw one of my fave bloggers Lily wearing one. I also popped into Boots to take advantage of the 3 for 2 offer and picked up some rather exciting ‘drugstore products’ that I will be blogging about soon! In fact I went a little mad in Boots, but if you can’t on your birthday when can you?
We then decided to go to Almost Famous Burgers for lunch. I’d been in the New Year with Harry for the first time (after wanting to go for ages) and swiftly decided it’d definitely be a delicious birthday treat especially as my friend had never been. I knew it would be busy on a Saturday so made a plan to go early but as we were starving just after midday we headed over and got seated straight away.
I ordered a Triple Nom Burger- which is heavenly!! – whoever thought of the idea of putting pulled pork and coleslaw on a burger is a genius (and yes I ate it all *cough greedy*) I also ordered a cocktail as I wasn’t driving, so I opted for Bitch Juice as it sounded quite refreshing from the ingredients and the name was pretty cool too, while my friend had the Animal Burger which had Beef Monster Munch in (ha!) and bacon bacon fries.
To walk off our humongous meal, we had a look around some more shops and had an afternoon coffee and people watched, then met up with Harry after work. In the evening my family came over and we went to Zizzi’s for my birthday meal.
We had my favourite Antipasti to start and then I had Ravioli di Capra, which I love and it’s reasonably healthy too! I even had a cheeky dessert of Tiramisu.
Because everyone forgot to get me a birthday cake I made myself a lovely chocolate one on Sunday and Harry sang happy birthday to me which was sweet and a lovely end to an indulgent weekend.
