Real Techniques Expert Face Brush– £9.99
A girl can never have too many makeup brushes right? I thought I had enough until recently when I was getting repeatedly frustrated at having to constantly wash my makeup brushes. Yes I know you’re meant to wash your brushes frequently anyway but I’m finding that because I use Double Wear foundation on a daily basis I can only get a single use out of my buffing brush before it’s all clogged up and orange and yak!
I’m not a big fan of traditional flat foundation brushes, although I have and will use them mainly because of my aforementioned problem (the lengths I’ll go to avoid daily brush cleaning!). I wanted another brush similar to my buffing brush, without having to purchase the entire core collection again so I went for the Expert Face Brush.

The Expert Face brush is a dome shaped brush and is quite densely packed. It’s also a lot firmer than the buffing brush but still has super soft bristles. As with all Real Techniques brushes they’re cruelty free synthetic Taklon bristles so no animals harmed here guys! Plus it supposedly makes them easier to clean.

It’s used slightly differently to the buffing brush, rather more like painting your foundation on than buffing it in (am I applying makeup or painting my wall here?). I find it gives a very similar lovely airbrushed finished to my skin which I love, but it creates more of a full coverage look with your foundation compared with the buffing brush because of the shorter bristles.

At £9.99 I’d say you can’t go wrong really, you might brace at the price a little if you’re not a big spender when it comes to beauty, but here’s where I give you the sales spiel. In comparison to other brands it’s definitely cheaper and the quality is great too. I’ve had most of my RT brushes for about 2 years now and they’re still going strong with no shedding, even my buffing brush which has gone through countless washes, so you know that these brushes are going to last.

I’d say this is probably my second favourite to the buffing brush- but only just- because it’s a fantastic brush and I love it. If you don’t have one and you’re looking for a great face brush (firstly pick up the buffing brush because it’s fantastic) but definitely also pick this one up!

    1. You definitely should! they’re really good quality I think, I wouldn’t choose high end over these (at least not for face brushes) xx

    1. Yep there’s so many good ones in the core collection, I think I use pretty much all of them. You should give this a go though it’s great! xx
